A traveller from the Old World, writing home, said of New Zealand, " ... the light here has an astonishing clarity, objects are more sharply outlined, the seas have a diamond brilliance, but above all it's the colours that make it so different ... they are so vibrant ... "

New Zealand is a unique country, with land of stunning beauty, friendly people, and fascinating cultural traditions. Situated on two beautiful islands anchored in the South Pacific, this intriguing land will never fail to inspire you. Expanding upon the cultural diversity is the variety of landscapes you'll discover.  Snow covered mountains, glaciers, active volcanoes, fjords, hot springs, and stretches of empty beaches are available for exploring.  The beauty of the land impacts on New Zealand culture in so many ways.

This website was created when my friend Kay and I took a trip to New Zealand last July. She had always wanted to go, and I had not been home in 28 years. I fell in love with New Zealand all over again and since the trip last July, I am now happily living back in New Zealand.

This website is for all the Kiwis overseas that are just a bit homesick. Judging by my guestbook, there are a few.
Land of the Long White Cloud

When the Tui sits in the Kowhai tree
and the sun tips the mountaintops with gold.
When the Rata blooms in the forest glade,
and the hills glow with sunny tints untold.
I love to roam through bush and fern
and hear the Bellbird sing,
and feel the touch of the wind on my face,
while the joy in my heart does ring.
There are some who long for coral sands,
and some for wind-swept plains.
While others roam the ocean wide,
then pine for home again.
But give to me the carefree life
by mountain, lake, or shore
of the lovely land of the Long White Cloud,
Our Homeland Aotearoa.
